Champions League
It’s time for the Champions League to get once again underway. Today we are going to witness the first games from the first qualifying round of the most prestigious tournament in Europe. In the Armenian capital Yerevan, the champion of Armenia Alashkert will face FC Santa Coloma from Andorra. Quite understandable, Alashkert is the heavy favorite to win this clash and qualify for the next round. Even if Armenian football is not among the best on the continent, it’s still much better than the football in Andorra. It won’t be surprising if Alashkert manages to decide everything in the first game and make the rematch pretty much pointless.Meanwhile Vikingur from the Faroe Islands is hosting Trepca’89 from Kosovo. We could say that this is a much harder game to predict because both countries are not really having much amount of class in terms of football traditions. Of course, Kosovo never had before the historical opportunity to build a tradition, but it’s a fact that so far the teams from this new country are not really impressing. Be careful with this clash.Malta’s Hibernians host FCI Tallinn from Estonia. We are used to saying that Malta is among the weakest football countries in Europe, but in the recent years, they are really improving their levels. This is something you must have in mind. Facing an Estonian team, this is really a match which could end in favor of both teams. The last game from the Champions League on Tuesday night is between The New Saints from Wales and Europa from Gibraltar. This is probably the easiest game to predict because the difference between football in Wales and Gibraltar is pretty much big in favor of the Brits. We don’t expect to see The New Saints having any problems in this one.On Wednesday night we are also about to see a match between Linfield from Northern Ireland and La Florita from San Marino. This is another game with an easy prediction in favor of Linfield. The football in Northern Ireland is currently enjoying some great times, although it’s more valid for the nation than it is for the club level. But still, La Florita is not a team which should trouble Linfield.
