Barcelona faces Osasuna

Barcelona faces Osasuna at the Camp Nou in a match from the 37th week of La Liga. Let’s preview this clash in the next few paragraphs, although we don’t believe it’s going to change something for both teams.

Barcelona are getting ready to congratulate the new champion Real Madrid. Just two rounds before the end of the season, Los Cules are four points behind the leaders and it does not look like something could change. For Barca this was an average season and it’s not a surprise that they are going to remain second.

Few days ago Quique Setien’s team visited Real Valladolid and it was not easy, but they achieved a 1-0 win at the Jose Zorrilla. Arturo Vidal scored the only goal in the game after an assist from Lionel Messi. We can’t say that Barca did anything special in this game to please the fans, though.

It’s pretty clear now that Barcelona will focus on the Champions League. They must beat Napoli in the second leg to qualify for the 1/4-finals. It won’t be an easy game as Barca are not looking to be in a great shape at the moment.

Osasuna on the other hand are 11th in the standings with 48 points, just two points behind Granada and the Top 10. For the Pamplonians this was a successful season and their current place in the standings is proving it.

Osasuna won their last match in the league. Arrasate’s boys hosted Celta at the El Sadar and conceded first, but scored a 2-1 win. Enric Gallego and Jose Arnaiz scored for the hosts.

For Barcelona this is one sad finish of their La Liga season. The Catalans are going to lose their crown and it hurts, but their season is not over yet – they still have some battles to have. As for Osasuna the Pamplonians can’t be unhappy with what they did so far.
